The BMW M1 is quite probably the brand’s most popular race car, gratitude to the Procar series. Nevertheless, it wasn’t only used in the Procar series and this 700bhp BMW M1 race car not only looks impressive but also sounds incredible thanks to its impressive exhaust system.

At about the 1:10 mark, you can see the BMW M1 race car begins to go sideways. The driver was able to make it but not before getting on the grass. While it seems fine initially, the driver-side air intake looks like the interior of a lawnmower bag later and the driver plausibly needs a new racing suit, as the fear of M1 replacement bills through that slide would soil the pants of each driver. Particularly in front of a group at the historic Goodwood Speed Week.

The BMW M1 was basically powered by a 3.5-liter inline-six engine that was produced especially for it by the fabulous Paul Rosche. That engine went on to be utilized, with some adjustments for road use, in other BMWs following, such as the E28 BMW M5. But it was formerly developed for the M1 and executed, in road car form, 266 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. Nonetheless, this car has, as stated earlier, 700bhp, which is certainly a lot more, and it sounds excellent.

The BMW M1 is an unquestionable icon, even if its records are muddier than most of BMW’s great cars, and it’s one of the several beloved cars to ever wear the Roundel. Its plan was done by Giugiaro, though roughly based on the BMW Turbo Concept created by Paul Bracq, and it was the only mid-engine car BMW had put into production until the i8 debuted in 2014. So if you’re a fan of BMW or even just cars in general, check this video out.

Not only the crowd was amazed but also any driver watching this would be, the main cause being the sound of the car and the handling it takes to drive something like that. Not every driver would be able to control the atrocious monster driver in the video, it being an absolute icon in both the car history and racing history.

As seen in the video even some experienced drivers like the one behind the wheel can lose control of such a powerful car like the M1 and even it seems like the car is all right and nothing really happened to it when it slid off the road the repair shop might have another opinion.
