The BMW i4 is entering the final stretch. The highly-anticipated car will be starting production next year before sales and dispatch will kick-off. In order to be sure everything’s available by 2021, BMW Plant Munich will begin to do a bit of tinkering, which will demand a halt in vehicle production this summer. BMW published yesterday that the Munich plant won’t be dispatching any new cars for a month and a half, between July 23 and September 7, while modifications are being done to the production lines.

This will be a significant challenge for Plant Munich. Various structural and remodeling steps are required for the fully-electric BMW i4. The high-voltage battery tenders the BMW i4 body distinctive from that of the vehicle models earlier built at the plant. Nonetheless, about 90 percent of the current production systems used in the body shop can be integrated and allowed for future BMW i4 production.

Only 10% individually, machinery used in the production of the rear end cannot be mixed, because of the high-voltage battery, and demand new systems to be installed. A new and separate battery assembly will be set up for this inside the vehicle manufacture.

The i4 won’t be the single possessor of all this work. Also installing newer systems, as well as present production equipment will be converted so the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Touring both with a hybrid drivetrain, the new BMW M3, and the fully-electric BMW i4 can all be made on the same line.

The BMW i4 Concept might look fairly common on the outside from some sides, but its inside is a completely more eye-popping thing. The large windows and huge panoramic glass roof, adjacent with swathes of white cushioning, mean it seems impressively airy and there aren’t any buttons or deformed air vents to clutter the area up. Alternatively, a BMW’s dual-screen infotainment system is installed, you get a single comprehensive widescreen that resembles very comparable to what you’ll find in most new Mercedes. BMW’s trademark iDrive rotary dial has been assigned a crystal makeover, too.

The BMW i4 Concept is powered by a single electric motor that BMW calls will produce about 530 horsepower, as much as some of its petrol V8 engines. That suggests the i4 Concept can sprint from 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds and attain a top speed in a surplus of 124mph. The i4’s 80kWh batteries can store enough charge for you to drive 373 miles between charges. Significantly more than the 322 miles a Tesla Model 3 Long Range can deliver and just a few miles diffident of what the Tesla Model S can achieve.  BMW declares you can recharge the i4 Concept’s batteries from 0% to 80% in just 35 minutes using a 150kW charger.
